The meter counts every request this page makes and the bytes each one sends. Downloads are this site’s code and fonts; AI tools also download their model in a background helper, which your browser’s developer tools (Network tab) show too. Check it there, or switch on airplane mode.

Check it yourself: once this page has loaded, switch on airplane mode and make a chat video. It still works, because your messages never needed our servers. How the meter works · Privacy controls

WhatsApp Chat Generator: what it does

Chat-style videos are everywhere on YouTube, TikTok and Reels: a funny exchange, a customer story, a “how it started” skit or an ad where the product saves the day, told one message at a time. This generator makes the chat screen for you in the familiar WhatsApp-style look: light or dark, with the contact’s name, photo or initials, “online” or “typing…”, date labels, times, and read ticks on your messages. Write the conversation one line per message (start your own lines with “me:”), and download a phone-sized PNG, the whole chat as one long image, or a 1080 × 1920 video where the messages pop in one by one with “typing…” dots before each reply. You can also download each step as a separate image to time them to a voice-over in CapCut. It is a template for marketing and storytelling, drawn in your browser, and not connected to WhatsApp.

    How to use it

    1. Type the contact’s name and add a profile photo or a colour, then pick light or dark.
    2. Write the conversation in the box, one message per line. Start your own messages with “me:”.
    3. Choose the ticks, times and whether to show the phone’s status bar. The preview updates as you type.
    4. Download a PNG, the whole chat as one long image, or a 1080 × 1920 video where the messages appear one by one.

    Tips

    • Keep each message short, like a real chat: two or three short messages read better in a video than one long one.
    • For a video, set the time per message so viewers can read every line. 1.6 seconds suits short messages; longer ones stay up a little longer automatically.
    • Add a voice-over or music in your video editor, and use the “Each step” images if you want to time messages to the voice exactly.
    • For ads, make the last message the offer or the call to action (“Use code SAVE10”), and keep it in the middle of the screen with room around it.
    • Use dark mode for videos watched at night or in dark-themed Reels, and light mode for bright, cheerful ads.
    • Use names you made up, your own, or your business’s, and say in your caption when a chat is a skit or a dramatisation.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I make a chat video, not just an image?

Yes. Click “Make video” for a 1080 × 1920 MP4 (WebM in browsers that can’t make MP4) where each message appears in turn, with “typing…” dots before the other person’s replies. It is made on your device with your browser’s video encoder.

How do I write whose message is whose?

One message per line. Start your own messages with “me:” or “>”; every other line is from the other person. A line starting with “#”, like “# Today”, adds a date label, and “[9:41]” at the end of a line sets that message’s time.

    Is this connected to WhatsApp?

No. It is a design template with the familiar WhatsApp-style colours, drawn by your browser. It doesn’t use WhatsApp’s logo, isn’t made by WhatsApp or Meta, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Can I use it for marketing?

Yes: skits, explainers, customer stories and ads are what it is made for. Don’t present a made-up chat as a real conversation, and don’t use a real person’s or company’s name without their permission.

    Is anything I type uploaded?

No. The messages, names and photos stay on your device; the image and video are made in your browser.
