Blur Face in Photo: what it does
Hide the faces of children, bystanders or anyone who didn’t agree to be posted. Add your photo, drag an oval over each face (or tap a face to drop one there), and the blur is applied only inside the ovals. Switch to Pixelate or Black bar in the Hide group if you prefer. Because the tool runs in your browser, the photo you are protecting is never uploaded anywhere, and the saved image is a new file with no location or camera data from the original.
How to use it
- Drop a photo into the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or tap to choose one from your phone.
- Drag an oval over each face. Tap once to drop a ready-made oval, then move or resize it.
- Pick blur, pixelate or a solid bar under “Hide”, and set the strength.
- Download the new image. It has no location or camera data.
Tips
- Cover the whole head, including hair and ears: people are often recognised by their hair, glasses or a hat as much as by their face.
- Use a strong setting. A light blur of a large face can still be recognisable.
- For school uniforms, name badges or house numbers in the same photo, add a rectangle over each one too.
- Check the background as well: reflections in windows and mirrors often show faces.
Frequently asked questions
How do I blur a face in a photo?
Add the photo, then drag an oval over the face, or tap the face to drop a ready-made oval there and adjust it. Repeat for every face. Use the Strength slider to make the blur stronger, then download.
Does it find faces automatically?
Not yet: you place the ovals yourself, which takes a few seconds and means you decide exactly what is hidden. Nothing about the photo is analysed or sent anywhere.
Is blurring safe enough to hide someone?
A strong blur or a coarse pixelation hides a face well in normal photos. For anything sensitive, such as a witness or a child in danger, use the Black bar: it replaces the pixels completely, so nothing of the face is left in the file.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Faces are blurred by your browser on your own device, and the image is saved directly from it. We never receive your photo.
