Profile Picture Maker: what it does

Turn a casual photo into a clean profile picture for LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, X, Slack or your CV. The AI cuts you out of the background on your own device, frames your face automatically, and puts you on a colour, a gradient or a soft blur. Zoom and drag to frame it, choose a circle or a square, and download a sharp 1080 × 1080 picture.

How to use it

  1. Drop a photo into the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or tap to choose one from your phone.
  2. The first time only, allow the AI model to download (5 MB on phones, about 47 MB for the quick model on computers, about 75 MB for the full HD model). It is saved in your browser, so your photo never has to be uploaded.
  3. Wait a few seconds while the background is removed on your device. Drag the slider to compare before and after.
  4. Choose transparent, white, any colour or a blurred background, then download at full resolution.

Tips

  • Start from a well-lit photo with your face and shoulders in it. A phone photo against any background works.
  • Zoom in until your head and shoulders fill most of the circle: profile pictures are shown small, so a tight crop reads best.
  • For LinkedIn and work profiles, a soft solid colour or a light gradient looks professional; bolder gradients stand out on Instagram and TikTok.
  • Use the same background colour for your whole team to make staff pages and Slack look consistent.
  • Most apps show profile pictures as a circle. Download the square version if you’re not sure: every app crops it for you.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the profile picture?

1080 × 1080 pixels. That is sharper than any platform displays (LinkedIn recommends at least 400 × 400, and Instagram shows profile pictures much smaller), so it stays crisp everywhere.

Circle or square: which should I download?

Most platforms upload a square and show it as a circle, so the square works everywhere. The circle version is a PNG with see-through corners, for places where you place the image yourself, like a CV, a slide or an email signature.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The background is removed by an AI model that runs in your browser, and the picture is put together on your device. Your photo never leaves it.

Can I keep my real background, just blurred?

Yes. Choose “Blur” and set the strength: you stay sharp and your real background turns into a soft blur.

Is it free?

Yes, with no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many pictures you make.
