Never expires. The link is inside the code itself, not behind a redirect, so there’s nothing to renew and nothing that can be switched off.

Free QR Code Generator: what it does

Type a link (or pick WiFi, WhatsApp, email, phone, SMS or a contact card), and your QR code appears as you type. Style it with square, rounded or dot modules, your brand colour and your logo in the middle, then download a PNG up to 4096 px or a vector SVG that stays sharp on a poster or a van. These are static QR codes: the link or details are written into the pattern itself, so the code works forever, with no subscription, no account, no scan limit and no redirect through someone else’s server. Many “free” QR sites make dynamic codes that point to their own short link and stop working when a trial ends; a code made here can’t be switched off by anyone. The code is generated in your browser, so even WiFi passwords and contact details stay on your device.

How to use it

  1. Choose what the code should open: a link, WiFi, WhatsApp, email, phone, SMS or a contact card.
  2. Fill in the details. The QR code updates as you type.
  3. Under Design, pick a style and colours, and add your logo if you like.
  4. Download a PNG (up to 4096 px) or an SVG for print, and test it with your phone camera before printing.

Tips

  • Always test a code with two phones before printing a batch. The tool also reads every code back itself, sharp and slightly blurred, and tells you if it struggles.
  • Keep it dark on light. Inverted (light on dark) and low-contrast codes fail on many phone cameras.
  • Printed size: at least 2 × 2 cm for a business card, and about one tenth of the scanning distance for posters (scanned from 2 m → 20 cm wide).
  • Shorter content = bigger squares = easier scanning. Use the shortest URL you can, without tracking clutter, or a short page on your own site.
  • Adding a logo? Error correction switches to High automatically, so up to 30% of the code can be covered and it still scans.
  • Download the SVG for print: printers and designers can scale it to any size without blur.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static QR codes: the information is stored in the pattern itself, not behind a redirect. They work as long as the link they contain works, with no subscription and no scan limit.

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is free with no account, no watermark and no limit on codes or downloads, including commercial use on menus, packaging and ads.

Can I change the link after printing?

Not with a static code: changing the content changes the pattern. If you may need to change the destination later, point the code at a page on your own website and change that page, or redirect that URL on your server. You keep control without paying for a “dynamic QR” service.

Can I track how many people scan my QR code?

Yes, with your own analytics: add UTM tags to the link with our UTM builder (for example utm_source=qr&utm_medium=print). Scans then show up as visits in Google Analytics, without a third-party tracker.

PNG or SVG: which should I download?

PNG for screens, documents and social posts (1024 px is plenty). SVG for print: it is a vector file, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size. For print without SVG support, use the 4096 px PNG.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The QR code is generated by your browser on your device. Links, WiFi passwords and contact details are never sent to our servers.
