PNG to JPG Converter: what it does
Convert PNG images to JPG in seconds, one at a time or hundreds at once. JPG files are much smaller for photos, and every website, form and app accepts them. Transparent parts of a PNG become white (or any colour you pick), because JPG can’t store transparency. Choose the quality with the slider: 92% keeps photos looking identical, lower values make smaller files. Optionally cap the dimensions for web or email. The conversion runs in your browser, so it’s instant, private and has no file limit.
How to use it
- Drop your images into the box, paste them, or tap to choose them from your phone. Add as many as you like.
- Pick the output format and quality. Optionally set a maximum size or a target file size in KB.
- Each image is processed on your device and listed with its old and new size.
- Download images one by one, or all of them as one ZIP.
Tips
- Converting a logo with a transparent background? Pick the background colour of the page or document it will sit on.
- Screenshots with lots of text look sharper as PNG. Convert to JPG mainly for photos, or when a form requires JPG.
- Use 85–92% quality for photos you might print, 70–80% for web and email.
- To keep transparency but still get a small file, choose WebP instead of JPG.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid colour: white by default, or any colour you choose under “Transparent areas”.
Does converting PNG to JPG reduce quality?
Slightly, because JPG is lossy, but at 90%+ quality the difference is not visible in photos. Sharp text and flat graphics can show faint artefacts; keep those as PNG if possible.
Why is the JPG so much smaller?
PNG stores every pixel exactly (lossless), which is wasteful for photos. JPG is designed for photos and drops detail the eye can’t see, so photo files are often 5–10 times smaller.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The images are converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
