vCard QR Code Generator: what it does
Fill in your name, company, job title, phone numbers, email, website and address, and get a QR code that adds you to someone’s contacts in one scan. Put it on your business card, email signature, name badge, stand or shop counter. The code holds a standard vCard 3.0, which the iPhone and Android cameras open as “Add contact”, so nobody has to type your number. It is a static code: your details live in the pattern itself, not on a server that can go offline, and nothing you type is uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose what the code should open: a link, WiFi, WhatsApp, email, phone, SMS or a contact card.
- Fill in the details. The QR code updates as you type.
- Under Design, pick a style and colours, and add your logo if you like.
- Download a PNG (up to 4096 px) or an SVG for print, and test it with your phone camera before printing.
Tips
- Fewer fields = a smaller, easier-to-scan code. Name, mobile, email and website are usually enough.
- Write phone numbers in international format (+44 …) so they work for contacts abroad.
- On a business card, print the code at least 2 × 2 cm, with a white border around it.
- Changed job or number? Make a new code: the details are written into the code, so it can’t update itself.
Frequently asked questions
What is a vCard QR code?
A QR code that contains a contact card in the vCard format. Scanning it with a phone camera offers to save the person to the phone’s contacts, with name, phone, email and the rest filled in.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The iPhone camera and Google Lens / the Android camera both read vCard QR codes and offer “Add to contacts”.
Can I add a photo or my logo?
You can put your logo in the middle of the code under Design. A profile photo can’t be stored in a QR code: it is far too much data.
Are my details uploaded?
No. The code is made in your browser. Your contact details never leave your device.
