Resize Photo for Online Form: what it does

Online applications for exams, jobs, universities, visas and permits are strict about the photo: an exact size such as 200 × 230 or 600 × 600 pixels, a file size under 50, 100 or 240 KB, sometimes a minimum size too, and a JPG at a stated DPI. Most tools do one of those things; this one does them all in one step. Pick a common size or type the numbers from your form, drag the photo so your face sits in the frame and zoom in if needed, and the result is made at the highest quality that fits the limit. If the portal also wants a minimum file size, the file is padded with blank data without changing the picture. A checklist under the preview shows the exact pixels, KB, format and DPI, so you know it will pass before you upload it.

How to use it

  1. Drop your photo into the box, paste it, or tap to choose one from your phone.
  2. Pick a common size or type your form’s width, height, maximum KB and, if it asks, minimum KB and DPI.
  3. Drag the photo to choose what stays in the frame, and use Zoom to crop closer.
  4. Check the list under the preview (pixels, KB, format, DPI), then click Download.

Tips

  • Read your form’s instructions first and type its numbers into Custom size: requirements differ between portals.
  • Use a recent photo on a plain, light background, facing the camera. Don’t edit your appearance: official portals reject altered photos.
  • A US visa (DS-160) photo must be square, 600 × 600 to 1200 × 1200 px, JPG, at most 240 KB, according to the US State Department.
  • If a portal says “KB” it may count 1,000 or 1,024 bytes: the tool stays under the maximum both ways, and over the minimum both ways.
  • Name the file as the form asks (for example photo.jpg). Some portals reject spaces or long names.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize a photo to 200 × 230 pixels and under 50 KB?

Choose the first preset (or type 200, 230 and 50), drop your photo, drag it so your face is centred, and download. The checklist confirms the size and KB.

What if the form needs a minimum file size?

Type it in “Min KB”. The tool first raises the quality, and if the file is still too small it adds blank padding inside the file. The picture doesn’t change and every viewer ignores the padding.

What does DPI mean here?

DPI is a number stored in the file that says how large to print it. It doesn’t change the pixels. Some portals check it, so pick the value your form asks for, or leave it unset.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is resized and compressed in your browser on your device; we never receive it.
