Amazon Product Photo Maker: what it does

Amazon’s main image has strict rules: a pure white background, the product filling at least 85% of the frame, and enough pixels for zoom. This tool does all three from an ordinary photo. The AI removes the background on your device, the product is centred on #FFFFFF and scaled to 87% of a 2000 × 2000 frame, and a soft floor shadow keeps it looking real. Download a JPG ready to upload, or get the Shopify, Etsy and eBay sizes in the same ZIP.

How to use it

  1. Drop a product photo into the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or tap to choose one from your phone.
  2. The first time only, allow the AI model to download. It is saved in your browser, so your photo never has to be uploaded.
  3. Pick the marketplace. The product is centred on white at that marketplace’s size; adjust the product size in frame and the shadow.
  4. Download the JPG for that marketplace, or “All sizes (ZIP)” for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and eBay at once.

Tips

  • The main image may show only the product for sale: no text, logos, badges, watermarks or props. Put those on your secondary images instead.
  • Amazon enables zoom for images of at least 1000 px on the longest side. The 2000 × 2000 export leaves room for that, even after Amazon compresses it.
  • The tool warns you if the background isn’t white or the product fills less than 85%. Keep both warnings clear for the main image.
  • Photograph the whole product with a little space around it. If an edge is cut off in your photo, it will be cut off in the listing too.
  • Secondary images can have lifestyle backgrounds. Use “Colour” here, or the social media post maker, for those.
  • Amazon’s rules can differ by category and marketplace. Check Seller Central’s image requirements for your category before uploading many listings.

Frequently asked questions

What are Amazon’s main image requirements?

A pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling 85% or more of the frame, and only the product itself, with no added text, graphics or props. At least 1000 px on the longest side enables zoom.

Why 2000 × 2000 pixels?

It is comfortably above the 1000 px zoom threshold, square like Amazon’s product gallery, and small enough to upload quickly.

Is a shadow allowed on an Amazon main image?

A soft natural shadow under the product is common on Amazon main images and keeps the product from looking cut out. If you prefer, choose “None” for a shadow-free image.

Is my product photo uploaded?

No. The background removal and framing run in your browser, so the photo stays on your device.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Phones use a lighter 5 MB AI model. For the sharpest edges on complicated products, use a computer and the “Sharper edges (HD)” option.
