WebP to PNG Converter: what it does

Convert WebP images to PNG when you need a format that every design tool, document editor, printer shop and older app can open. Images saved from websites are often WebP, which some versions of Office, older photo editors and many upload forms still reject. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, so logos, icons, stickers and product cut-outs stay see-through after conversion, ready to place on a slide, a flyer or another background. Convert one file or a whole batch, optionally cap the dimensions, and download each PNG or a ZIP of all of them. Animated WebPs are converted from their first frame. Everything runs in your browser, so the images never leave your device.

    How to use it

    1. Drop your images into the box, paste them, or tap to choose them from your phone. Add as many as you like.
    2. Pick the output format and quality. Optionally set a maximum size or a target file size in KB.
    3. Each image is processed on your device and listed with its old and new size.
    4. Download images one by one, or all of them as one ZIP.

    Tips

    • For photos without transparency, convert WebP to JPG instead: the file is usually many times smaller than a PNG.
    • PNG files of large photos can be big. Use “Max size” to scale them down: quality settings don’t apply to lossless PNG.
    • Animated WebP stickers become still PNGs of the first frame.
    • Opening the PNG in a design tool and seeing a white box? The original WebP had no transparency to keep.
    • Need the image smaller in KB too? Run the PNG through the image compressor afterwards.

    Frequently asked questions

Does WebP to PNG keep the transparent background?

Yes. PNG supports full transparency, so transparent and semi-transparent areas stay exactly as they were in the WebP.

Is there any quality loss converting WebP to PNG?

No further loss: PNG is lossless, so the image is saved exactly as it was decoded from the WebP. Any detail lost when the WebP was made can’t be brought back.

Why is my PNG file so much bigger than the WebP?

WebP compresses images, while PNG stores every pixel exactly. For photos that can mean a PNG several times larger. If you don’t need transparency, JPG is the smaller choice.

Can I convert many WebP files at once?

Yes. Drop them all in; each is listed with its new size and “Download all” saves a ZIP.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser on your device.
